Much of the region is lightly forested and ideal for seasonal agriculture. The northern parts of both Falorum and Siliere are notably more heavily forested. It is also important to note that, due to the Peers Act of 1072, the Kingdom of Falorum and the Empire of Falorum have the exact same peerage. The upper nobility is distinguished from the lower nobility in a few ways. Upper nobility are all assured a spot in the Imperial Court, whereas lower nobility are not (although some lower nobles are represented). In addition to this, every title of upper nobility is one of absolute rule over a specific piece of land. Some titles in lower nobility are not titles of absolute rule, and some are not landed titles. As well, because of pretension and the importance of lineage in the mind of Falorum's nobles, there is rather little crossing of families between upper and lower nobility. As a general rule (though, as with every rule, there are exceptions) the upper nobility are vastly more wealthy, regionally influential, and respected than the lower nobility.
