The Erenites

The Erenite people are, in modern day, considered to be thoroughly human. They are a nomadic people living between Ndalu and Diath, mainly in the steppes south and east of the Zelgra mountains. They are almost entirely special among humans in that they are all descended from an Elven god.

Ernoron is known to humans in the western kingdoms as the god of war and protection. The legend goes that he was once a powerful (mortal) elven wizard who battled against the titans in ancient times. For his unmatched mastery of magic and for saving the mortals from utter destruction, the gods used their power to make him their equal.

However, it is speculated that Ernoron is not without progeny. In his time on the earth as a god, the obscure legends say that he produced ten sons and ten daughters. Most of them remained close to home in Diath, but three sons and three daughters traveled south, where they wandered with the local nomadic humans for a time and eventually intermarried with them. Their descendants became the Erenite people. This history is obscure even to the Erenites, although their own histories hint at such things.

Even today, though, the Erenites exhibit special traits among humans: they are especially healthy, beautiful, physically fit, and long-lived. All of them take to magic easily, and it is a common part of everyday life for them. This is remarkably different from most humans, who must study for years to become proficient at even basic spellcasting. Most Erenites have silver or gold hair, shining blue eyes, and gold to bronze toned skin.
